EU AI Act: New transparency and high-risk obligations crystallise for deployers

The European Commission has published detailed guidelines on transparency obligations for providers and deployers of certain AI systems under the AI Act, with key provisions applying from August 2026. In parallel, a new EU regulation has adjusted the application timeline for high-risk AI system obligations but reinforces requirements for contracts, documentation, and cooperation between AI providers and deployers. The Commission has also opened a Code of Practice on transparency for AI-generated content for providers and deployers to sign.
